Hi everyone!
I wanted to share my latest spreadsheets tracking the last time each mold has had a new introduction (outside of OOAK). I have charts for each of the 3 scales. We'll explore a few quick statistics as well! All of these will change over the year as more new releases are revealed, but there's a decent amount of 2025 use already.
TRADITIONAL

So far, a total of 29 molds have known new releases for 2025. We are slowly approaching 200 molds in the TR family, 193. Crazy to think that we'll likely reach that milestone in this decade, if the PC continues as it has for the future.
111 molds have been used at least once since the beginning of 2023, which is close to two thirds! 151 molds have had at least one new introduction within the 2020's (78%). 34 additional molds had their latest new release within the 2010's. Only 8 molds have not been used since prior to 2010, with the oldest being the Donkey (1992). The state of the Donkey mold as far as I'm aware is unknown. The next eldest is Khemosabi (2003) and that mold has been confirmed as unusable.
Lady Roxana has not had anything new since 2004, and Phar Lap since 2008. The other 4 molds are all foals last seen in the lineup in 2009: Lying Down Foal, PAF, SBW, and Scratching Foal.
I still find it impressive that Breyer has been able to juggle such a large catalog and for the most part, keep pace in a way that the majority of molds are rotated through within the most recent 5 years.
CLASSIC

The Classics collection does not rotate through as often, simply due to the line having fewer offerings in general. There are series like the America's Wild Mustangs that used to be sold through WalMart and Midstates retailers that hasn't had anything new in a long time, for example.
There are currently 72 molds in this scale, 40 that were released in the mid 90's or earlier (including the Mesteno molds), and 32 released in the late 90's onward (including the Herden stock molds).
30 molds have had new releases since 2023, including only 5 Older molds (MOW, Polo Pony, Mesteno's Mother, CAS, and Rearing Stallion). And additional 7 molds had their latest new model between 2020-2022 (Show Arab, Shire, and Morgan Foal for Newer Molds and Jet Run, Terrang, Black Stallion, and Lippizan/Pegasus for Older Molds). Of the 35 molds whose last release was sometime between 1995 and 2019, only 4 were released in the late 90's or after. Show Stock (2017), Cutting Horse (2016), Modern AQHM (2015), and Wahoo King (2007).
STABLEMATE

Out of the three scales I've been tracking, the Stablemates have the best track record for rotating through and giving as many molds love as possible. There are currently 94 molds, including the upcoming Tiny Semi-Rearing Mustang and ZAM for 2025. We usually get at least 2 new molds per year (one PC and one SMC) so hitting the milestone of 100 molds should also happen in the 2020's!
A staggering 77 (82%) of the SM molds have had something new between 2023 and now! And 86 (91%) of the available molds have been used at least once during this decade. The other 8 molds have mostly been used between 2017-2019, except the one G1 mold who hasn't re-debuted since the new H-R agreement, the QH Stallion (last seen in 2005). The other 2017-2019 are mainly G1 molds that are used sparingly anyway, the only two newer molds who are a bit overdue for a new release are the G2 Arabian (2018) and Chrome the Andalusian (2019).
Looking at the similarly small chunk of molds last seen between 2020-2022, there are also several G1. This group also includes the Cob (adapted from the ornament) whose last release was 2021, and the G2 Clydesdale, G3 Arabian, G4 Draft, and G4 Reiner with last new intros were 2022. Despite his time off, I still see people saying how over saturated the G2 Draft is and he needs a break. That should tell you a lot about how much he was used between 2018-2021 especially!
I hope you enjoyed this little slice of data nerdery! :D
I love your data nerdery!
